Ten Years Of Community Speed Watch

Volunteers and police are marking ten years of Community Speed Watch, a scheme where ordinary people work with the police and their local councils to educate drivers and to make their communities safer.

The recent Survey to identify areas to be addressed in the Aller Parish Plan,  showed the main concern of residents is the speed of traffic through the village. Thanks to the many hours that Judith Bailey and her team of CSW volunteers put in each month, Aller’s speed problem has been highlighted for further action. If you think you could help, sparing as little as an hour each month, please contact Judith on 252696

Speed Watch groups carry out roadside watches to get across the message that speeding is socially unacceptable. Yeovil Neighbourhood Inspector Jackie Gold said, “this is the best example of the community, the police and our partners working together for a common purpose. These volunteers are absolutely fantastic – the enthusiasm that comes across is fabulous." View this story on the Avon & Somerset Constabulary website.
