Terms and Conditions:
Children tickets are for ages 5 - 15, 16 years and above are Adult, There are no concessions, Advance tickets are purchased before the event only; tickets
will only be refunded if the event is officially cancelled; maximum ticket
refunds will only be up to 75% of the ticket value paid (due to costs); a
booking and card handling fee is payable on all advance ticket sales; If you purchase the wrong
ticket they are not refundable; Family tickets do not include under 5’s that go
in FREE; everyone entering the event on the night must have a valid ticket or
you will be refused entry; the event has a limited 2,500 capacity and once all
tickets are sold entry will be refused, this is for safe purposes; everyone who
has bought advanced tickets will be allowed entry;

Our 2016 Bonfire Spectacular
Thanks to the hard work of the Aller Community Group who organised the Solstice celebrations and Bonfire on Saturday, village charities have benefited by a total of £1500 each.
It could not have been done without the help and support of the whole community, but special thanks must go to the dedicated volunteers of the Community Group and those who helped in many other ways to make it a success.

Another year, another large pile of smoking ashes: A big thank you to all
those, near and far, who came and helped put on the bonfire again this year –
the build team, the marshals and tickets teams and the clearer-uppers on Sunday
morning. A particular thank you to the Marshals and Ticket Teams who get all the
hard work and none of the glory! Its a big ask for a small village, and
though we have excellent helpers from the wider community, it would not be
possible but for the ‘Aller spirit’ (whatever that might be – answers on a
postcard please...), so thank you, especially if you had your driveway blocked!
Finally, a big thank you to all those of you who came and enjoyed the spectacle,
and who make burning an enormous ship seem worthwhile!

A BONFIRE spectacular is set to return to Aller near Langport this year after a two-year absence. The popular Aller Bonfire features a man-made construction that is set ablaze to tell the story of a local event or tale. Past constructions have included a full-size Brunel Great Western Railway steam train dubbed the Aller Express, the Houses of Parliament and the Aller Dragon perched menacingly over a castle. The bonfire constructions are burnt to music that has been specially selected and mixed for the occasion.
This year the Aller Village Bonfire Society is constructing an animated Viking ship to form part of a play telling the story of King Alfred's defeat of the Vikings and the baptism of Guthrum, King of the Vikings, at Aller in AD878.
Thirteen primary schools in the area have been invited to provide a Viking shield to be used on the ship as part of the development of the storyline. The winning school will have its shield saved from the inferno and will be presented with a prize by television property show presenter Sarah Beeny.
This event is run by volunteers and is one of the biggest bonfire and fireworks night events in the South West. Proceeds are divided between St Andrew's Church, Aller Playing Field and the Aller Village Hall.
There will be performances by fire artists and cider from Orchard Pig on sale.
The Aller bonfire started eight years ago in the garden of The Manor in the village. It was subsequently moved to the playing fields to accommodate the large crowds that regularly attend.
The timetable for the event is as follows:
5.45 pm - Event begins
6.00 pm – Fire Acts
6.15 pm - Mummers perfomance
6.45 pm - Shield Competition presentation
6.50 pm - Fire Act/Fire Sculptures
7.00 pm – Fireworks
7.10 pm - Bonfire lit
