Guy Smith and Laura Evans say 3.2 tons of grapes were harvested on October 1 by the crew of neighbours, friends, and family. This lower-than-hoped-for quantity seems to reflect imperfect weather conditions for English vineyards this year. Fortunately the quality of juice from Aller's Pinot Noir grapes looks outstanding.
